The Challenge

Certain populations face powerful systemic barriers that threaten their ability to secure the best possible care. MTAC focuses on supporting these groups first.

BIPOC

The 5-year relative survival rate is 83% for black women and 92% for white women.

LOW INCOME

Women who live in low poverty areas, whether urban or rural, have a 5-year survival rate of 74%.

LOW EDUCATION

Women with lower levels of education are nearly 2x more likely to succumb to breast cancer once diagnosed.

MTAC provides financial aid to underprivileged women living with breast cancer to help meet basic needs such as food, clothing, shelter, assistance with childcare and medications.

Free Breast Cancer Workshops

MTAC offers free, pre-recorded online educational workshops including "How to Perform a Breast Examination", "Chemotherapy & Surgery Prep",  as well as education in regards to navigating and advocating for yourself while on this journey.

Custom Wigs & Cold Caps

MTAC provides custom wigs and scalp cooling caps to women who cannot access these resources, allowing women to maintain their sense of identity and feel empowered while undergoing treatment.
