Custom Wigs & Cold Caps Losing your hair due to cancer treatment can be a challenging and emotional experience that can impact your self-image and sense of identity. However, at More Than a Cure, we believe that every woman deserves to feel confident and beautiful throughout her journey. Maintaining one's dignity and sense of self, has also been shown to improve clinical outcomes. That's why we collaborate with local hair salons across Canada to provide custom wigs and cold caps to women who may not be able to afford them. Let us help you fight cancer with dignity and grace - because you are strong, beautiful, and deserving of the very best care. How do cold cap's work? Cold caps work by constricting the blood vessels in your scalp and preventing the chemotherapy from attacking hair follicles which cause hair loss. How effective is the treatment? Depending on your chemotherapy regimen, cold caps will be effective in helping you to maintain up to 70-80% of your natural hair. Free Educational Videos & Resources MTAC understands that knowledge is power, especially for individuals facing breast cancer. To empower women battling breast cancer, the organization will offer a range of free, pre-recorded online educational videos that provide essential information on various topics related to breast cancer treatment and care. These workshops will include valuable resources such as "How to Perform a Breast Examination," which equips women with the knowledge to detect cancer early, "Chemotherapy & Surgery Prep," which provides guidance on preparing for and coping with treatment, and education on navigating and advocating for oneself while on this challenging journey. MTAC is working to empower every woman to fight breast cancer with dignity - and we need your help . Our Approach While a small portion of our funding is given to research needed to eradicate breast cancer, MTAC is unique in its holistic focus to help disadvantaged breast cancer patients currently in treatment. Your Impact Your gift today supports MTAC programs that directly benefit woman undergoing breast cancer treatment , including cold cap therapy, custom wigs, health programs, education & advocacy workshops, and financial support for underprivileged women. Is More Than a Cure a Non-Profit? Yes, MTAC it is a registered Canadian non-profit organization. Are donations tax-deductible? How do I get a tax receipt? Yes. A tax receipt will be emailed to you as soon as your donation is made. Can I mail in my donation? We do not accept donations by mail. However, donations through our website are easy and secure! How do I stop or change my reoccurring donation? You remain in control of your giving. If you would like to stop or change a reoccurring donation, please contact us. A Cancellation request will be honored the same month as received, provided notification was received prior to the monthly charge.
